Microsoft details Windows Store changes, adds desktop apps, better navigation

Microsoft is opening up about the changes its made to the Windows Store as the premiere date for the new OS draws near. It'll be available in 26 markets (so far) and Redmond's listened to concerns consumers had about getting around. In response, it's added a navigation bar that also links users directly to the apps they already own. Desktop apps will appear from June 1st (today), although when clicking a link, you'll be redirected to the developers own website to make the purchase.

Mazda to axe 25% of jobs in U.S. and Europe

Mazda to axe 25% of jobs in U.S. and Europe

Automotive News Europe reports that struggling Japanese automaker Mazda is set to cut a total of 250 jobs in the U.S. and Europe. The cuts, originally reported by Japan's Nikkei, come as part of new reorganization efforts and represent 25 percent of the company's staff in both markets. Mazda has registered losses for the past four years due in part to slow sales and a stronger yen. As a result, the company is looking to tighten its belt around the world.

Mazda will slim its workforce to under 200 workers at a subsidiary in Germany, while the manufacturer's sales staff in California and Michigan will fall to around 550 employees.

Chrome OS Converges With Android In Concept “Chromium OS Theme” – Looks Fantabulous

A few days ago, Google took the wraps off their new and improved Chrome OS update. The most notable change was a completely overhauled user interface, reminiscent of Android's tablet UI, but with the sleek, minimal stylings of Chrome (possibly a hint of OSX int there). Well, after a request popped up on XDA to bring Chrome's snappy all new UI to Android in the form of a theme, one Android modder is looking to make that a reality with his “Chromium OS Theme” concept. Still just a mockup, you get a good idea of what we can expect when/if Google's Chrome UI would look slapped on your Android device.
