Midttrafik commercial shows riding the bus is still cool

We can't remember ever seeing a commercial for a bus at all, much less one that was genuinely epic, but we can cross both those firsts off our bucket list thanks to an ad for Denmark's Midtraffik public bus system. Midttrafik wanted to make riding the bus cool, and the result is this 90-second spot directed by Marc Wilkins that runs through all the awesome features on buses like designer bells with cool functions, donuts of the tire-smoking kind and nice seats. But that doesn't even begin to describe it, so perhaps the tagline on the Midtraffik site puts it best: Drama, desire and plenty of bus.

Apple: Purple flares are “normal behavior for iPhone 5′s camera”

So those pesky purple flares that keep cropping up in iPhone 5 photos have been confirmed by Apple, but Apple isn't offering refunds or replacements, they're offering advice. A email sent to a Gizmodo reader details Apple's official stance:. Our engineering team just gave me this information and we recommend that you angle the camera away from the bright light source when taking pictures. The purple flare in the image provided is considered normal behavior for iPhone 5′s camera.

While this doesn't confirm that the purple flare effect is partially due to Apple's new sapphire lens, it certainly doesn't rule it out.

eyeSight gesture control can code motion control into any camera

One of the most widely-used and commercially successful motion-sensing pieces of hardware has been Microsoft's Kinect. Microsoft bundled it up with its Xbox game console and since then, Kinect has been flying right off the shelves. However, until now, we haven't seen a viable motion-detecting technology which can be commonly used with smartphones and tablets. EyeSight gesture control intends to change this. The best part about this technology is that it doesn't require any modifications to the hardware of a smartphone or a tablet.

iCloud glitch sees storage remain at 25GB for another 38 years

Hmmm, things do not seem to be going great guns for Apple at this particular point in time, what with their CEO's recent apology for the Apple Maps snafu, here we are with something that could very well bring a smile to users' faces. There seems to be a glitch in the iCloud account system that has pushed the renewal dates for users 38 years in advance to 2050, instead of downgrading them to just 5GB of storage space. Of course, not all accounts are affected, but those which were displayed extended storage space with renewal dates that were set years in the future.
