EA and Gameloft announce their support of Google's Nexus devices by optimizing their games

One of the drawbacks to Android devices is that because there are so many different types of Android phones and tablets out there, with different hardware and different dimensions, developers usually have a hard time creating apps that will play nice with every Android phone or tablet out there. Well the good news is that if you were planning on picking up any of Google's Nexus devices - the Nexus 4, Nexus 7 and Nexus 10, you might be interested to learn that big name publishers Electronic Arts and Gameloft have announced their support for Google's range of Nexus devices.

VWerks Ram KTS is a Ram Runner aftermarket-style

Chrysler first introduced us to its Ram Runner exactly two years ago at SEMA, but for buyers of this Raptor-like truck who don't want to go through dealerships for the upgrades, VWerks has just the thing. Looking every bit as mean as the dealer-built Ram Runner, the VWerks Ram KTS gets a wide-body treatment and upgraded off-road performance suspension similar to its Mopar contemporary. Starting life as your everyday Ram 1500, the Ram KTS on display at SEMA features a beefed-up KORE long-travel suspension system and off-road tires that allows the truck to tackle tough terrain at high speeds.

Acer's Windows 8 all-in-ones cause big fuss in Taiwan, we go hands-on to find out why (video)

Although Microsoft's Windows 8 launch will very likely go down in history as a positive turning point for the company, it wasn't without it glitches. Specifically, the Wall Street Journalreported yesterday that Microsoft reps in Taipei found it difficult to navigate their own OS due to hardware issues with their demo devices - namely, new all-in-one PCs from Acer and ASUS. There were said to be issues with opening and closing apps, possibly due to the implementation of touch on such large screen sizes of 23-inches and over.

Intel ships SSD 335 as its first drive with 20nm flash, asks just a little to stay cutting-edge

Don't panic, SSD 330 owners: your drive hasn't been immediately rendered obsolete. Intel's new SSD 335 is just the first shipping drive using the company's 20-nanometer flash memory. The shrink down from 25nm is primarily a technological showcase that proves the more scalable, hi-K/metal gate borrowed from processors can fly in NAND-based storage. Buyers will still get the same 500MB/s read speeds and 450MB/s writes in a 2.5-inch, SATA 6Gbps drive that will stuff neatly into many desktops and laptops.

GM profits down 14% in Q3

General Motors reported its third-quarter earnings today, and while revenues were up in the three-month period, overall profits were down 14 percent compared to last year. GM's Q3 net revenue was $37.6 billion (almost $1 billion more than 2011), but its net income was $1.5 billion, down from $1.7 billion last year. This is the opposite trend from Chrysler and Ford, which were both up considerably. According to Automotive News, GM's lower profit came from a combination between the flailing European car market and the increased production of small cars.

Turns out that's not quite right - the proper terminology is the slightly more elegant "Windows Store apps," as per a note from a Redmond spokesperson. So there you go.

So, heard about that Google Nexus 4 thingy from LG. O2 is the first UK carrier to announce it'll be carrying this year's winner of the "most-leaked smartphone" award, which was mercifully launched on Monday. So far, we've found the "phenomenal" quad-core, 4.7-inch, 1280 x 768 handset with virgin Jelly Bean 4.2 to be "better than the sum of its parts," and Google will be selling the phone sim-free for a non-exorbitant 239 at the Play store. That means you'll likely find the device free under contract, but your carrier choices may be limited to start, as O2's rumored to have a 30-day exclusive.

If Samsung took a wrong turn with its brand-diluting Galaxy S III Mini, then the much-leaked Galaxy Premier is where it gets back on track. The phone keeps the outward visage of the Galaxy S III and makes only modest sacrifices in order to reach a wider audience. These include a slightly shrunken 4.65-inch screen, which still blazes away with a full 720 x 1,280 Super AMOLED panel, an acceptable dual-core 1.5 GHz TI OMAP 4470 processor, 1GB of RAM and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Toshiba has managed to pick itself up this quarter, recording $17.8 billion in sales, making for an operating profit of $722 million over the past three months. The "social infrastructure" segments recorded a healthy profit ($518 million), while income from digital products, home appliances and electronic devices fell due lower than expected demand. While it was pretty clear that Asustek's Google-partnered Nexus 7 contributed heavily to the Taiwanese maker's healthy Q3 results, there was no official confirmation on its exact sales figures so far. Asustek CFO David Chang has now come clean and told the WSJ that the 7-incher is close to touching the one million per month mark, just about double the rate of sales at its launch. While this number is a fraction of the iPad's sales (14 million in the last quarter alone), it could well go up due to the recent price drop and the addition of new 32GB models to the portfolio.

The New iPad 3 Is Way Faster Than The Old iPad 3

An early fourth-generation iPad benchmark was spotted on Geekbench today, and it scored a 1757, which more than doubles the score of the third-generation iPad, which checked in with a Geekbench score of 791. In fact, the fourth-generation iPad (which goes by iPad3,4) scored higher than the iPhone 5 on the Geekbench score we took. However, we have seen some Android phones and tablets flirt with this score before, like the Galaxy S3 and the Nexus 7 . Geekbench scores measure processor power, so while you're probably not going to look for aliens or fold proteins on your mobile device, it's nice to know that they're packing some guts.

After all, it does take some time to get used to a new operating system, and Windows 8 is no different. From the gallery's description: "It all started with a red puffy vest Cooper already had and a side comment from my husband about Marty McFly in late September. Previously, it was only available on Windows Phone 7, which, come on, isn't going to lead to mass adoption. Also worth noting: it got a release the same day as Windows 8 came out. A coincidence. With Microsoft, who knows.
