Skype For Windows 8 Updated

Skype For Windows 8 Updated

A new software update is always more than welcome by hardware owners, but if and only if the software itself has been thoroughly tested to make sure that it runs smooth as butter without causing more headaches. After all, an update ought to come with its fair share of bug fixes, so to hear news of Skype for Windows 8 being bumped to version 1.5.0.109 surely brings more than just a smile to our faces. Of course, there will be new features thrown into the mix, but do not expect anything groundbreaking or earth shaking here.

The other thing that got a lot of attention were games, one of which previewed during the event was DriveClub, a new racing game franchise by Evolution Studios that will launch with the PS4 this holiday season.

GooPhone N2 Lite A Blatant Galaxy Note 2 Clone

They say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so what is GooPhone trying to do with the introduction of their GooPhone N2 Lite. Well, GooPhone must have gone all out to come up with what you can say is a pretty good clone of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2, right down to its 5.5-inch touchscreen display that sports 720p HD resolution. Normally, clone devices of higher end models tend to share a physical resemble, but underneath the hood, the hardware specifications will be as different as night and day.

Facebook Says Sorry To 104-Year Old Marguerite Joseph Due To Age Restriction

The folks over at Facebook do seem to be involved in some sort of interesting human interactions lately, as we did cover the story on how police used Facebook to inform the tragic news of a son's death to his mother. Having said that, this time around we have an egg fall flat on Facebook's proverbial face, as a 104-year old Michigan grandmother, Marguerite Joseph, was unable to input her birthday due to an over age restriction. Facebook has since stepped forward to issue an apology to this grandmother, as Marguerite needed to lie about her age when it comes to jumping aboard the social network bandwagon.

Do you happen to own the NeoGeo X Gold limited edition console. If you have answered in the affirmative, then you might be interested to hear that there are more games heading your way, as Tommo claims that from April onwards, they will roll out NeoGeo X Classics: Volume I. The naming convention itself gives the game (pardon the pun) away, as this will definitely be the first in a series of NeoGeo X Classics Games Cards that were specially made for use with the NeoGeo X video game console.

Sony Announces PlayStation 4

Sony has finally formally announced the launch of PlayStation 4, more than six years after its predecessor was unveiled. The company does not reveal what the console looks like, but its representatives showed off the controller that–as we have speculated–features a touchpad. But apparently, the new DualShock 4 controller has other aces up its sleeve: it includes a motion sensor, represented by a light bar at the top, making it easy for the console to identify players. It is like the PlayStation Move, but this time you are using both hands.

Danica Patrick becomes first woman to win Sprint Cup pole

196.434 miles per hour. That's the top speed hit by Stewart-Haas racing driver Danica Patrick during Saturday's qualifying for the Daytona 500 at Daytona International Speedway. Not only was that speed good enough to earn Patrick pole position for the race on Sunday, February 24, it is the fastest speed recorded in qualifying for Daytona since 1990. "You can do anything you want to do, and gender doesn't matter," said Patrick. And she's right: Danica Patrick can now claim to be the first woman to win pole position in NASCAR's top racing division.

Next Corvette ZR1 to get 700 horsepower?

Word has it General Motors may offer as much as 700 horsepower in the C7 Corvette ZR1. Motor Trend reports the next Corvette Z06 will continue to rely on its naturally aspirated 7.0-liter V8 engine for thrust, but the lump will deliver substantially more power. How much more. MT says the engine could deliver up to 600 ponies. That's a jump of 95 horsepower over the current Z06, though no figures have been finalized as of yet.

However it looks like Apple isn't the only company looking to move away from Samsung. According a report from Apple Insider, it seems that Nokia is looking to drop Samsung as their component supplier due to allegations of theft.

Earlier today we managed to catch a glimpse of what looks like the press shot of the upcoming HTC One, aka the HTC M7. We have to admit the device looks pretty sleek, although we can't help but feel that there are some elements in its design that is reminiscent of the iPhone 5 and the Blackberry Z10. Putting that aside, a new teaser photo by HTC has been released (pictured above) and as you can see, it has something to do with camera lenses. This isn't the first time that HTC has hinted that the upcoming HTC One will be a camera powerhouse, but as to what exactly does this mean remains to be seen.

Wii U January Sales Predicted At Nearly 55,000 Units

During the Nintendo Wii U's launch week in the U.S., Nintendo announced it sold 400,000 units of its next-generation console, but it looks like in post-holiday sales it hasn't been keeping up with its launch-week momentum as a new report is showing the Wii U isn't selling so great these days. This past January, the Wii U only sold only 57,000 units in the U.S. Those sales numbers aren't coming from Nintendo, as we're sure they'd be embarrassed to report that number, instead, they're coming from an unnamed source who is said to have access to numbers from the NPD Group.

Woman Uses Digital Board to Break Up With Her Lover

A woman in Manchester (England) rented a digital board to tell her ex-boyfriend that she's breaking up. The digital board is placed at a petrol station in Manchester, where the ex-boyfriend usually takes his lunch . It appears that the woman was not only angry, but wanted to humiliate her ex-boyfriend as well.  The message on the board read "I'm leaving you for Gary. Your clothes are at your mum's. I've change the locks." "Sorry to do this on Valentine's Day. Laura."

Interestingly Jordan Wilson took a picture of the digital board and tweeted it. Now the picture has gone viral on twitter.

Apple Launching The iPhone 5S In June [Rumor]

iPhone fan art. How much speculation can a single man spark. Jefferies analyst Peter Misek  (again) seems confident about Apple launching the iPhone 5S by June. According to his predictions, Apple should start production of the iPhone 5S by March to unveil it at the annual Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC). Apple's iPhone 5 sales are slowing, but analysts are interpreting the declining sales figures as indication of Apple cutting down on production of the iPhone 5. Peter Misek says that production is down from 40 million to 30 million. In his opinion there are very few changes between the 5 and 5S models.

Maserati Ghibli overtakes Levante, headed for Shanghai?

While earlier reports indicated that the next Maserati product out of the gate would be the Levante SUV, Motor Trend is now reporting that the Audi A7-shaped Ghibli has cut in line. Word is that we may see the new Ghibli as early as the Shanghai Motor Show in April. Citing unnamed sources, MT predicts that the minds at Maserati now see a more pressing need to fight off the likes of the Mercedes-Benz E-Class and the BMW 5 Series than to go after luxury utes. However, if our spy shots of Ghibli prototypes are anything to go on, it's also likely that the sub-Quattroporte Maser won't be a traditional sedan.

The Citroën DS3 Cabrio we first saw at the 2012 Paris Motor Show has launched in the UK, putting more Gallic-tinged, canvas-roofed convertible goodness on the automotive menu. Competing directly against cars like the Mini Cooper Convertible and Fiat 500C, Citroën believes it's got a winner because on top of the DS3's already popular chops the Cabrio maintains the five-seater space and the largest cargo area in the segment. You can open and close the roof at up to 75 miles per hour – the Citroën release doesn't say whether that means all the way or to the intermediate, horizontal position.
