Apple Sued for Patent Infringement Over “Fast Booting Process”

Apple has its own share of patent infringement lawsuits and a new one is filed just recently. A Florida-based company called Operating Systems Solutions (OSS) claims that Apple's use of “fast booting operation” for OS X violates at least one protected patent, which details OSS' so-called four-step method for quick booting. The eyebrow-raising part of this patent is that it involves files like config.sys and autoexec.bat, which are very common in many operating systems.
