Sony Ericsson: Box.Net Offer Not Yet Live

Sony Ericsson says they have posted the Box.Net promotion details earlier than they were supposed to. The deal was that all Xperia device owners could get 50GB of storage free for downloading the Android app on a Sony Ericsson Xperia device and signing up for an account. If you have tried but were unable to get the deal, this is why. The promotion does indeed exist, anyway. We just have to wait for Sony Ericsson's word when it actually goes live. We'll let you know when that happens.

iMobifone is pure win for retro hands-free accessory

You know all the hullabaloo about radiation from the cell phone or smartphone which might end up frying your brains eventually. Well, scientists claim that the amount of radiation which is emitted is minimal, and you won't grow another ear or a literal third eye over years of prolonged exposure to radiation from the handset. Well, for those who prefer to play it safe, here is an accessory that surely even Alexander Graham Bell would have approved of – after all, it merges both the old and the new, resulting in the iMobifone.

Canon EOS 1000D washes ashore in BC, Canada, SD card reveals it was lost at sea for over a year, owner of camera identified

What you're looking at was once a fully functional Canon EOS 1000D, now merely a relic of the sea (the Pacific Ocean, to be exact), which was recently posted on Google+. User Marcus Thompson, found the DSLR washed up near a wharf while on a diving job in Deep Bay British Columbia, Canada and decided to take it home to find out what could be salvaged. After removing and cleaning the SanDisk Extreme III SD card inside of it, he was successfully able to recover about 50 photos with EXIF data from August 2010, showcasing what's described to be a firefighter and his family on vacation.

iPhone 4S priced like a boss

iPhone 4S priced like a boss

Remember the Made in Brazil iPhone 4 that we spotted last week. Well, it seems that this part of the world is crazy for Apple's “best iPhone yet” as well, considering how the iPhone 4S has been priced like a boss – on the same level as that of a MacBook Pro, in fact. We are talking about a $1,900 plus price point, all for 16GB of internal storage. Heaven knows just how much the 64GB model will cost.

Galaxy Nexus gets an optional larger battery in Korea

The Samsung Galaxy Nexus still hasn't reared its head on this side of the world yet, but it looks like its Korean brethren have already started receiving matching accessories. According to reports online, folks who purchase the Samsung Galaxy Nexus in Korea will be able to purchase an optional larger battery for the device. And unlike the HTC Thunderbolt's battery that adds a hideous bump to the phone's rear, the Galaxy Nexus' larger battery only increases the thickness of the phone ever so slightly. It even comes with a slightly redesigned battery cover to accommodate it.

ARM's New DS-5 Tools Will Allow Android Developers to Achieve Even Better Application Performance

ARM is introducing a new tool for Android developers called the ARM Development Studio 5 community edition. It allows applications written in C and C++ to be optimized for ARM hardware (pretty much every chipset inside every Android device) even more than the Native Development Kit provided by Google allows. With this, developers can achieve up to 4 times better performance than they currently enjoy. While the NDK has proven to be good enough and has helped developers bring over many great applications, this tool can only help developers and users alike. The Twine is created by Supermechanical , a pair of graduates from  MIT Media Lab, and is currently seeking ( well, they've actually already exceeded ) funding on Kickstarter. The Twine is a durable 2.5″ square that provides in-built wifi connectivity, internal on-board temperature and accelerometer, as well as an external expansion jack for other sensors ( such as moisture ).  Power is supplied either by an on-board mini USB or two AAA batteries.

Crypteks: Encrypted, Combo-Locked USB Stick For the Seriously Paranoid

The Crypteks USB stick was inspired by Dan Brown's well-written book, The Da Vinci Code. If you need an 8GB USB stick that is both hardware encrypted and physically locked then you probably have a secret worth paying $130 to protect. If this is the case, I suggest you either confess your porn habit (really — you'll feel a lot better) or buy the Crypteks USB.
Don't believe me? Then listen to the pitch from honey-voiced Crypteks boss Fahad Koumaiha, who could easily make an alternative living reading bedtime stories.

The Ken Fox Troupe and the Wall of Death

The Ken Fox Troupe and the Wall of Death

The carnival doesn't quite enjoy the same level of prestige it once did. The old-world entertainment now has to vie with a movie industry soaked in computer-generated special effects, on-demand satellite entertainment and a vast expanse of electronic distractions. That doesn't make some of the stunts performed at the carnival any less amazing, however, and it's especially true when it comes to the infamous Wall of Death, wherein motorcycle riders ramp up speed and take to a near vertical wall to defy gravity. Benedict Campbell has just finished a short film on Ken Fox and his family.

This iPhone 4 started to glow red and smoulder with dense fumes in the middle of a flight to Sidney, Australia. Fortunately, a flight attendant stopped it from exploding violently, something that has happened before with other gadgets. The owner of the self-combusting iPhone wasn't doing anything extraordinary with it. The iPhone's battery just started to overheat in the middle Regional Express' flight ZL319, going from Lismore to Sidney. According to the airline, the flight attendant extinguished following standard emergency procedures.

. Many of us wondered why Google's new flagship Galaxy Nexus doesn't support Google Wallet, an NFC-based payment service that the company introduced a few months back. Google Wallet also will not be supported on Verizon Wireless' version of the smartphone, however, which is set to launch early next month.

Motorola DROID Bionic Now $200

Motorola DROID Bionic Now $200

We're not at all surprised by this bit of news considering new devices have one-upped the DROID Bionic since its debut. The news is that Verizon has dropped its price to $200. It's the standard on-contract price we see from other carriers for their high-end phones so while it's cheaper than the norm for Verizon customers, it's still not quite cheap. Get started at Verizon's site if you're interested (though we're sure some better deals may pop up from third party retailers soon).

Asus Transformer Prime to be launched on December 8 in the US?

Last time we heard about it, the Asus Transformer Prime was scheduled to be released in the US either on November 28, or on December 16. The Nov. 28 date can be ruled out now, since GameStop (which initially said it would launch the new tablet on that day) now says the Transformer Prime should become available on December 9.
But the Prime could be launched a little earlier: Newegg expects to sell it starting December 8 (for $499.99).

If the December 8 launch date turns out to be accurate, the Asus Transformer Prime may join Verizon's Samsung Galaxy Nexus (which might be out on the same day).

The Motorola Feedback Network is once again making a call for testers of an upcoming software release. The new “project” is aimed at owners of the original Motorola XOOM , but little is known about it at this time. Motorola is requesting confidentiality, which, as you can see, has stopped no one from reporting the news to folks such as myself. There is no given timeline for when we might see the first signs of this mysterious update (if it is even an update at all). Speculation will no doubt turn to Android 4.0, though we feel that might be a bit premature.

So, if you want to get yourself a shiny new cyan unit, you'd have to visit one of Three's brick and mortar stores.
