Sony to ditch Android for Vita OS on upcoming mobile devices?

Sony might be one of the biggest advocates for the Android operating system, with Google's mobile operating system powering all of its recent smartphones and tablets. However, it looks like that could possibly change in the future. According to reports online, Sony's soon-to-be President and CEO Kazuo Hirai, mentioned that the Vita OS, used in the PlayStation Vita, is not just for gaming and that it can be used in smartphones and tablets as well. But then, he concluded with the statement “that doesn't mean that we're applying it to smartphones and tablets at this point in time, but it's been designed with expandability in mind.”.
