Furthermore, the Xbox Durango aka the Xbox 8 aka Xbox 720 aka Xbox Loop (phew.

BMW HP4 exists to warp time, space, faces

BMW has had a line of HP – for High Performance – motorcycles for seven years, but they have all used the company's signature boxer engine layout. The new HP4, on the other hand, is a 1000-cc class bike using an evolution of the four-cylinder engine from the BMW S 1000 RR sport bike.

LG Nitro HD Ice Cream Sandwich ROM leaked

LG Nitro HD Ice Cream Sandwich ROM leaked

It is speculated that the LG Nitro HD would be on the receiving end of the Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update at the end of this month (which is today), which is a good thing of course, never mind the fact that it has not made its way to hit Android 4.1 Jelly Bean. Still, being one generation behind is better than two, and while we await an official roll out of the Ice Cream Sandwich operating system update for the LG Nitro HD, someone has already leaked the aforementioned ROM to the masses.

Quad-core Sony Xperia Android Tablet expected to be launched in September

Quad-core Sony Xperia Android Tablet expected to be launched in September

Sony is apparently getting ready to release a new Android tablet, after last year it introduced the not-so-popular Tablet S and Tablet P models. The new device is reportedly called Xperia Tablet, and has a design that reminds us of the Tablet S. If details appeared over at the XDA Developers forum are correct, the Sony Xperia Tablet will run "Android 4.0 or later" (no surprise here), coming with a quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 processor, and a 9.4 inch (1280 x 800 pixels) display.

Google brings NYC subway alerts to Maps, makes public transit a little more bearable

Google has offered up New York City subway information via Maps for some time now, but as anyone who's navigated the 100-plus-year-old transit system will happily tell / complain to you, such information is only so useful without info on the requisite service changes - a lot of work goes into maintaining something that old. Google's upping its game by bringing services changes to Maps for Android and its web-based counterpart. Clicking on one of the 468 stations in Maps will bring up relevant maintenance information, as well as step-by-step instructions for navigating around it.

Twitter quietly adds clickable stock symbols

Twitter quietly adds clickable stock symbols

It might not pack the same thrill as the rumors of in-feed video, but Twitter has added clickable stock symbols on tweets. This now throws up search results for both the stock and the company, using a new 'cash' tag, like $FB, to differentiate from typical links and tags. As noted by TNW, it's bad news for the founder of StockTwits, a service that offered similar functionality to gather tweet-based financial nuggets.

Six of Top 20 Most-Watched Ads Ever on YouTube are auto-related

Six of Top 20 Most-Watched Ads Ever on YouTube are auto-related

The marketing-obsessed folks over at Adweek have compiled a list of the most-watched advertisements on YouTube of all time. Six of those 20 ads are automotive-related, which should come as no surprise, considering the amount of money automakers pour into car ads. Adweek did not factor in movie trailers, or banned international ads. Both would throw the curve of top ads, and the latter would certainly include a few car commercials. Most of these videos are less than three years old, highlighting the widespread accessibility to smartphones and streaming video.

It should come as a shock to no one that Kia's Dancing Hamsters are on the list.

Cabbie converts London taxi into Olympic hotel

Cabbie converts London taxi into Olympic hotel

We don't know what kind of person would want to be traveling in London right now. With the Olympics in town, the city has become besieged with tourists, athletes and officials. The price of hotel rooms have skyrocketed, and the presence of Olympic-only bus lanes have locked up everyone else, who must share the road. The length of a cab ride has jumped tremendously.
It must be a maddening experience, but one London taxi driver has found a solution that benefits both he and at least one tourist per night. David Weekes has turned his taxi into a hotel room, and for $75 a night one guest can stay in the back seat of his London Taxi TX4.

10-inch BlackBerry PlayBook gets pictured, will it ever launch?

This is strange. A 10-inch version of the BlackBerry PlayBook tablet has been spotted in the wild in Vietnam. Obviously, a photo shoot promptly ensued. That's odd, because after having been rumored for the better part of last year, we thought the 10-inch PlayBook was discontinued thanks to its smaller sibling's meager sales.

For those of you who are clearly part of the early adopter school of thought, here is something which you might be interested in – it seems that folks who purchased an Asus Eee Pad Transformer Prime at the end of last year and are not too happy with what your hard earned money gave you in return, keep your fingers crossed. It seems that a bunch of Transformer Prime users have reported that those who purchased the offending tablet from Best Buy might stand a chance of exchanging the tablet from Best Buy themselves for a spanking new Asus Transformer Pad Infinity.

T-Mobile Galaxy Note going for $250 this August 8th

I am not quite sure whether “better late than never” applies to the Samsung Galaxy Note for T-Mobile, as the world is already looking forward to the sequel, aptly known as the Galaxy Note 2, and here we are still talking about the original “phablet” from Samsung that is tipped to arrive this August 8th over at T-Mobile. The asking price for this relatively antiquated piece of technology. We are looking at $250 a pop with a new 2-year contract, and this comes about after you take advantage of the mail-in rebate.

Falcon future unsure as Ford expected to cease AU manufacturing in 2016

Falcon future unsure as Ford expected to cease AU manufacturing in 2016

Ford hasn't said anything about it, but those who predict and those who do business with Ford in Australia expect The Blue Oval to cease production there as of 2016. The primary reason cited is the arrival of Euro 5 emissions standards on November 1, 2016, which are too stringent for the company's bread-and-butter Falcon sedan and Territory crossover to pass. It's been said that it would cost Ford millions to reengineer and retool, but sales of the Falcon sedan have been down for so long now that Ford announced earlier this month that 440 people would be let go from its two plants there.

Microsoft intros Wedge Mobile Keyboard, whose case doubles as a stand

As we've seen, there will be no shortage of tablet / keyboard hybrids on offer when Windows 8 starts shipping this fall. But since those keyboard docks will typically be sold separately, that means you're also about to see loads of third-party alternatives. Not to be left out, Microsoft just announced a Bluetooth mobile keyboard, along with its smallest-ever mouse - both of which can be used with any Windows tablet. Starting with that Wedge Mobile Keyboard, it resembles Zaggmate's iPad case from 2010, in that it has a hard case to make it more travel-resilient.

Microsoft new mice and keyboards designed for Windows 8

Microsoft new mice and keyboards designed for Windows 8

As you may know, Windows 8 will launch on Oct 26, and Microsoft has been busy upgrading its hardware accessories to match the new OS functionalities and new visual language (icons, colors…). For ultra-portable tablets and computers, Microsoft is introducing the Wedge Touch Mouse ($69.95) and the Wedge Mobile Keyboard. Both are ultra-compact  input devices designed to be light and small. The Wedge mouse is surprisingly agreeable to use for such a small device.
The Wedge keyboard ($79.95) has a more classic “smartphone keyboard” look, but its design is clean.

GM reviewing Penn State sponsorship in wake of sex abuse case

Pennsylvania State University will be paying a $60 million fine as a consequence of the child sex abuse scandal that's engulfed the school since last year. But that's not the only financial penalty it faces, as Penn State stands to lose many more millions of dollars in lost revenue from sponsors. Automotive News is reporting that General Motors is reevaluating its financial support of the Nittany Lions athletic programs, though GM would not share specific details of its dealings with Penn State. If GM does decide to drop Penn State, it would follow on the heels of State Farm.

Nissan GT-R future in doubt?

Next up in the "Whoa, what?!" department is a report on Inside Line wondering whether the current Nissan GT-R will be the last Nissan GT-R. The website's sources have learned that Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has yet to sign off on a next-generation car, which suggests the future model hasn't even begun development. And those same sources say they're not sure Ghosn will ever give the green light.

Windows 8 is 'not awesome for Blizzard either' says studio exec

Calling Windows 8 "a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space" may not endear Valve's Gabe Newell to the folks at Microsoft, but it struck a chord with a member of Blizzard Entertainment's top brass. Rob Pardo, Executive Vice President of Game Design at the Irvine-based company, took to Twitter and chimed in on the matter, stating that Windows 8 is "not awesome for Blizzard either." While far from a resounding indictment, it's not the warmest of welcomes for Redmond's latest desktop OS.

While AT&T's been flaunting a rather patriotic red, white and blue Galaxy S III lineup since launch, the carrier's exclusive Garnet Red handset's been rather elusive so far, with pre-orders starting July 15 and deliveries expected July 29. If you've been eying Samsung's blood red $199 flagship, you'll be happy to know that we received our review unit yesterday and snapped a bunch of pictures, including comparison shots with the white and blue models. WSJ: Apple, Google reportedly in rival groups to buy Kodak patents

WSJ: Apple, Google reportedly in rival groups to buy Kodak patents

Kodak might be cleared to sell its patents, but it's likely no fan of the companies lined up to make a deal. The Wall Street Journal's best friends, "people familiar with the matter," assert that Apple and Google are part of separate coalitions hoping to buy the 1,100 patents up for grabs. Apple's camp supposedly includes Microsoft and controversial patent holder Intellectual Ventures; Google's team reads more like an Android Justice League, with HTC, LG, Samsung and "patent risk solutions" provider RPX all playing a part. Real or not, there's still much that's up in the air.

Rambus planning appeal after losing ITC patent case against LSI and STMicroelectronics

Rambus has lost the ITC dispute it filed with most of the electronics industry back in the day. Only LSI and STMicroelectronics remained as respondents after the company negotiated settlements with Freescale, Broadcom, MediaTek and NVIDIA. In its decision, the court found that some of the patents were unenforceable, while others ceased to be under the "clean hands" doctrine because Rambus had allegedly destroyed relevant documents.
