China Legalizes Deletion Of “Illegal” Posts Or Pages

China Legalizes Deletion Of “Illegal” Posts Or Pages

A couple of days ago it was reported that China was seeking to further tighten their control over the internet by having users register for internet access by using their real name. Now in a newly announced law, it seems that China has now legalized the deletion of pages or posts which have been deemed "illegal", and even going as far as requiring service providers to hand over the information to the authorities for punishment.  The reason offered up last time was to prevent potential rumors from spreading, although some think this is just a way for China to prevent its citizens from sharing political scandals with the world wide web.
