Sony Introduces Touch Block Feature For Xperia ZR

Sony Introduces Touch Block Feature For Xperia ZR

Sony Mobile has plans to make sure that your Sony Xperia ZR (also known by its model number as the C550X) smartphone will work in a far more efficient manner than ever before, through the introduction of a feature that they have called Touch Block. I am quite sure that there is not much need to explain just what the heck Touch Block will offer, as the name itself is pretty much self explanatory, but just for the sake of those of us who are experiencing a brain hibernation at the moment, the Touch Block feature would disable the touch screen display so that you can avoid unintended touches, especially under wet conditions.

Android dominates Europe with 70% market share, iOS shy of 18%

Android dominates Europe with 70% market share, iOS shy of 18%

A report out of Kantar Worldpanel ComTech is showing Android utterly dominating Europe's mobile market share accounting for 70.4% of all devices. This is in stark contrast to iOS where it's holding onto a mere 17.8%, and Windows rounding out 6.8%. This can widely be attributed to Samsung devices, which account for around half of all smartphones sold in Europe. Pretty insane.
Even overseas, Samsung isn't completely in the clear where they face growing competition from Sony, who's sees 38% of Xperia users as ex-Samsung owners.

eBay Find of the Day: Untitled 1990 Mosler Consulier Targa (video)

No one will look at this 1990 Mosler Targa (a.k.a. Consulier GTP), read that just 100 examples of the car were built between 1985 and 1993, and still wonder why no more were sold. To put it bluntly: this is one of the ugliest cars ever to turn a wheel in anger. Its ungainly silhouette, parts bin accessories and staggeringly shaped glasshouse all seem to scream, "Buy another car.".
Of course, something this ugly ends up being downright intriguing, especially when you learn that all that fugly covers up some pretty serious performance.

Google Reportedly Being Crticized By Smart TV Manufacturers

Google Reportedly Being Crticized By Smart TV Manufacturers

Smart TVs are the norm these days, they let users browse the internet, install apps, make Skype calls and watch YouTube videos. These TVs often come with a YouTube app that offers them direct access to the video streaming service. Google has reportedly been employing “coercive sales tactics,” which are being criticized by manufacturers of smart TVs. Many manufacturers opted for open-source HTML5 instead of Google TV as the platform for their products. These manufacturers are said to put their products through “browser conformity tests” at Google's U.S.

Keep your dog hydrated when you travel

Keep your dog hydrated when you travel

We always take our dog, Teddy, along when we travel.  He's an anxious little guy, and his car seat is next to a window (won't fit anywhere else in the car) so he's always in the sun.  Those two things, combined with his heavy coat, keep him a little overheated as we ride along.  We stop and offer him water periodically, but he could get his own whenever he wanted it with a To Go Bowl in the car.  This kit consists of two bowls: a water bowl with a splash-preventing rim and a bottom bowl for snacks or a small portion of food.  Snapped together, the small bowl fits into a standard or XL car cup holder so your pet can have water any time.

ArenaNet Opens Guild Wars 2 APIs To Developers

ArenaNet Opens Guild Wars 2 APIs To Developers

While some gamers might be of the casual sort, logging onto their MMORPGs just to play for a few hours, catch up with friends and guild mates before calling it a night. Others are of the more hardcore variety, playing hours of end, only catching a few hours of sleep before logging back on, and who might be constantly reading forums for strategies and tips. Well if you think you fall into the latter category, it seems that the folks at ArenaNet have opened up the API to Guild Wars 2, essentially allowing developers and players of the game to ultimately create their own tools that they think could be of use to other gamers.
