Drag racing Buick Regal driver loses best seat in the house

Drag racing Buick Regal driver loses best seat in the house

The only better place to watch a drag race than from the other side of the wall is behind the steering wheel. Then again, that depends on what car you're driving. This gentleman enjoyed the view from the driver's seat of his hopped-up 80's Buick Regal for the holeshot, or just until his seat went from upright to permanently reclined in 1.2 seconds. All of which just goes to show how souping up a car can sometimes reveal hidden weaknesses in the most surprising ways.

LG attempting to ban BMW and Audi sales in South Korea over patent dispute

LG Group has taken up legal arms against both BMW and Audi over a patent dispute. The technology company is reportedly aiming to have the sale of vehicles from both German automakers banned in South Korea over an LED patent dispute. According to Korea Times, LG Group is claiming that Osram, the manufacturer of LEDs favored by both automakers, is infringing on LG patents. Oddly enough, LG was once behind the patent game and had to pay Osram to use the company's LED technology in LG products.

HP revives from the dead, announce new gaming PC with a cool mutant name

Few seconds ago they decided to close down their PC department, and after changing a new honcho overnight, they're back again. Funny. Well, HP does whatever they like and they don't give a fuck what you think, or so the new CEO doesn't. Maybe she has a very dark sense of humour, or perhaps there are events that have conspired to produce one of the most serendipitous pieces of product name irony I can remember.
Barely three weeks after announcing to analysts that they were looking to either spin off its PC business as a separate company or sell it off altogether, HP have launched a brand new gaming PC. It's called the Phoenix.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare has been available to pre-order on Steam for a few weeks now, but if you pre-order now, you'll also get a free copy of the superb Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. CoD 4 was Infinity Ward's first attempt to bring the intensity of Call of Duty's linear campaigns to a near-future setting, and it worked beautifully. The campaign retained the grim realism of the earlier entries in the series without succumbing to the bombastic action movie set pieces of Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty: Black Ops. Missions like All Ghillied Up show Call of Duty at its most restrained and atmospheric.

Nokia Sabre gets leaked out by Microsoft

Microsoft's Canadian division accidentally spilled the beans on a mysterious Nokia phone, bearing the name Sabre. The leak came from a rather unexpected and, dare we say, a bit boring part of the Windows Phone developer competition announcement - the terms and conditions section to be precise. As you can see in the picture above, the Nokia Sabre was mentioned along with its Searay counterpart, and two Samsung devices, dubbed Yukon and Wembley.

A team of Apple fans at Benm.at in Germany used CAD designs, leaked hints, case designs and realistic mockups to develop a 3-D computer model that was then used to build a true-to-life, true-to-scale iPhone 5 mockup.

The team says they used the same process to create their prototype that is used to create the iPad.

Nissan's car reads minds, helps you navigate roads safely

Nissan has teamed up with the École Polytechnique Fédérale de Lausanne in Switzerland (EPFL) in order to develop a new kind of mind-reading vehicle technology, which in due time, might even usher in hands-free driving. Who would have thought (pardon the pun) that you could actually direct your car using nothing but your mind in the future. I'm a bit wary of that though, since most of the times we drive without using our minds as everything is so mechanical already, so to have a blank mind or one that is concentrating on something else might not make your car go anywhere.

It isn't the most sleek or full-featured device, but Sense 3.5 and a finely-tuned Android build give the Explorer all the functionality you could want from a device of its class.
