Upscale London boroughs say no no no to BT's broadband revolution, ugly green boxes

Between all of the delays, disappointment and a general lack of availability, many Brits can't seem to catch a break when it comes to getting up to speed with fast internet - but this time it could be their own fault. BT's fiber optic rollout plans came to a screeching halt in Chelsea and Kensington after a staggering 96 of 108 applications for big green street cabinets housing the fiber were flat-out rejected. Neither local council is prepared to clutter its pristine streets with the "ugly" boxes.

Samsung Galaxy S III June 20 release date for the US seemingly confirmed in Australia

Yesterday, the Samsung Galaxy S III was officially announced for Canada. And it will become available over there on June 20. That's the exact same date that was rumored to be when the Galaxy S III would also make it to T-Mobile in the US. Yet up until now neither Samsung nor the magenta carrier have said anything official about this.

That could change pretty soon, since the June 20 US release date for Samsung's latest and greatest has been seemingly confirmed in Australia. Yes, quite far away from the US.

Microsoft Office for the iPad rumored for a 10th of November release

A little over a week ago, there were reports (again) that Microsoft could be launching its Microsoft Office productivity suite on iOS some time in November. The Daily who originally broke the news a couple of months ago is now back and is "confirming" the release and has even revealed a specific date – the 10th of November. Microsoft will launch Office for iPad on Nov. 10, The Daily has learned. This follows reports earlier this month that a late fall release was likely... We've learned that the development team within Office Mobile finished its work on the project last month, and the efforts of the design group wrapped soon after.

Absinthe 2.0 hits the download wire, jailbreaks all iOS 5.1.1 devices but the 32nm iPad 2

Absinthe's “so-easy-your-grandma-could-do-it” jailbreak tool just got an update to version 2.0, enabling support for a handful of Apple portables running iOS 5.1.1. Absinthe 2.0, which was developed by the “Jailbreak Dream Team” (Chronic-Dev and iPhone Dev) joins Redsn0w's tool, and will support all iPhone and iPad versions, with the exception of iPad2,4 — the most recent iPad 2 variant, shipping with a 32nm A5 chip. The jailbreak tool can also be installed on iPod3,1 and 4,1 models.

Online phone store Mobiles.co.uk is featuring a rather impressive deal covering the Galaxy S III should you be up for getting one alongside a T-Mobile contract, selling Samsung's hot new Android model for “free” on a £26 monthly tariff. And the telephone itself, of course, in its dark blue configuration:.
You also get one month half price, which brings the price down by another few pence.
