Budget airlines Scoot Pte replaces inflight entertainment systems with iPads

Budget airlines Scoot Pte replaces inflight entertainment systems with iPads

Not just a great way to reduce the need for heavy paper manuals and flight bags, but the iPad is also a great way to provide passengers on airlines a different and perhaps a more lighter form of entertainment as well. Budget airline Scoot Pte, the low-cost subsidiary of Singapore Airlines, has removed the entertainment system used in some of their planes. This has resulted in a 7% cut of the planes' weight and at the same time increasing seating by 40%. So instead of being faced with television sets placed in front of their seats, passengers will now be offered iPads that will come preloaded with movies, music, games and television shows.
