New GPON-8 card enables 16 ports of GPON in unique 1RU pay-as-you-grow architecturePETALUMA, CA – July 9, 2013 – Calix, Inc. (NYSE: CALX) today announced the addition of the GPON-8 card to the widely deployed Calix E7-2 modular Ethernet Service Access Platform (ESAP), significantly enhancing the flexibility and economics of high density fiber access deployment. The new card doubles the GPON port density of the E7-2 ESAP, enabling an industry-leading 16 GPON ports, 8 gigabit Ethernet (GE) ports, and multiple 10GE uplink ports in each 1 rack unit (1RU) E7-2 modular chassis.
