For the rest of you, the 50th running of the event that commences Speedweeks and the sports car racing season saw David trounce several Goliaths: the Ford/Riley of Michael Shank Racing entry piloted by A.J. John Pew, Oswaldo Negri Jr., A.J. Allmendinger and Justin Wilson crossed the line in first. Not only that, their sister MSR car finished in third a minute down.
A.J. Allmendinger was behind the wheel at the checkered flag, his leg cramps so severe that he had to be helped from the car.
